SHORTNEWS.COM

Has anyone come across the web site Shortnews.com? the news articles are so wild they remind me of something from The Enquirer or the like. I haven't had time yet to investigate if these stories are true or not. I have gotten many laughs from reading and sharing them with my friends.

Need for alternative to biased media

The Indian Media presents a sorry state of affairs - sensationalizing trivial issues and giving highly biased presentation on serious matters. Many a time, one has to go through several newspapers or news channels to get the true picture. Real neutral media is simply unavailable. Will the Internet provide the alternative? Probably, individuals sharing the information on current issues through this new media is the best and only available alternative.

What about the 'edge' of knol ?

Usually, saying something worthwhile is not that trivial. Starting my own blog here makes me wonder what will make a good first entry. I see that the topics of the Blogs go all over the place, but I want to keep closer to the topic of knowledge sharing than most here. Many thoughts flitter quickly by - my work on on-line science data directories in the distant past, of making information and data more readily available on the www, or how the web compares to the library methods for finding… Continue

Designer Glasses and Designer Sunglasses

Hello all,

We hope to add several guides in a few days which are all about buying eyewear. We sell designer eyewear on eBay and have found that most customers always have doubts and questions about issues such as glasses sizes, UV protection, their eye prescription, which frames suit them, which lenses they need and more.

Now we are going to add these guides to 'KnolStuff' so more people become educated about eyeglasses and sunglasses.

Thanks

The Designer…

Round 2

Ok, I'm back. Cookies are done and I made peanut brittle. I think my computer might be getting close to death. I can't be sure, but I think I actually heard it wheeze.

Four days and counting till the holiday break. I am SURE the kids will be wild this week. Thankfully everything planned for language arts is very easy, low key stuff. We take them down to the cafeteria for a sing along Thursday. I am still recovering from last years!

Imaginary Worlds

Is a fictive imaginary world more engaging if it's realistic or fantastic?

I'm getting ready to teach a "topics in literature" course at West Chester University, and I'm returning to one of my favorite themes, imaginary worlds. Although every literary world is an imaginary world, some are more obviously imaginary than others. In the pop culture, there are signs that the there's a turn of the wheel from "reality tv" to more obviously imaginary worlds like "Heroes." Our fascination with… Continue

What my daddy didn't know

Hi. I am Ayden Mekus, and about to tell you what you can expect from your mommy and daddy when you are just 2 years old. You'll be surprised! I will teach you first hand how to get away with everything. Really - it's easy, and mommy and daddy just don't have a clue sometimes. Anyway - just bear with me, as I will be writing much more very soon. You won't want to miss my posts.

Grandiose Speech

I can't help feeling that I should make some bold statement in my first blog on this site (on any site in fact). However, as is usual at times of relative importance, I am stuck for anything interesting to say. I don't really want to talk about myself, boring any poor sod that stumbles upon this with tired anecdotes, or worse still, what I have done since I got up this morning and how I enjoyed my roast chicken lunch. I don't really want to make any proclamations demanding the collapse of… Continue

On Importance

Mostly everyone does what everyone else does. Mostly I only do those things I see other people doing. This is a revelation. This is also the simplest of stated facts –we as a species are sheep. We are also incredibly diverse. ??? What are we? I was thinking about what I could say to a congregation that would be impressive, that would capture a whole sentiment of a people – I…

Artistic Vision

Posted by Stacy Esch on November 6, 2023 at 8:15pm 10 Comments

Is an artist's "vision" primarily a product of experience or imagination? I don't want to pursue the simple answer that it's both. Is it primarily one or the other, of if it's just plain old both, how do they interact to create an imaginary world?

Is it true that some people have more artistic vision than others, or is this kind of seeing equally available to all?

Trying to find treatment.

In the beginning of August 2008 I was doing great. I went to the gym 3 times a week for 3 hours each time. I had lost weight and had a nice tone coming. I was nicely tanned with some help of the tanning beds. I rode my motorcycle back and forth to work and to the gym. In the middle of August a leg press came down on top of my head while i was trying to get it reset to the proper location so I would be able to use the equipment. I got very dizzy and had to go home, that was the end of my…

Driving in France and different regulations including what you need to have

Posted by Martyn Davis on November 6, 2023 at 8:14pm 0 Comments

Driving through France can be a fantastic experience which you can never forget, and as always the rules and regulations between countries can differ, which is where we've composed a small list to help keep on the right side of the law and to help keep you safe!

Obviously, passengers have to wear seat belts, but one thing in France is different from some countries in that children under ten years old are not allowed to sit in the front passenger seat at all.

Another is, even if…
