dear we all are human and our mind is different in thinking....sometimes i may be also feel so(i am not sure that!)..every time i feel that the author is trying to analyze the most dangerous side of the loneliness....And also believe that the rhythm is nothing but the musical form of his "great silent/lonliness"...

:) I heard it, so I know the lyrics... I admit that it is a powerful song.. I won't dare listen to its instrumental version, for my own sake... No, the version is nice, it's just that the rhythm had been a part of my nightmares since forever... I could not realize what it is unless I heard the song.. But well, maybe I will try it :D

(Sidenote: don't you ever get the feeling that the lyricist is trying to tell to NOT be afraid of death?)

the core of the tune &lyrics are really gloomy..but it also shows the power of music especially the melodics one....don't forget that dear...
And it is also said that the music played without lyrics will put the listener into a deep sleep and induce vivid dreams and nightmares. The nightmares usually consist of falling or flying sensations.....
[But whatever the other says I believe in one philosophy of Adwithya; ie 'aham brahmasmy' means God is nothing but your mind only)....so it is up to you to decide whether the song is a notorious one or a landmark...

I just heard this song... And my first reaction was "How dare they ban creep (by Radiohead) Don't they know what 'depressing' means?".. So yes, this song is totally depressing.. Obviously Rezső Seress wasn't urging people to commit suicide.. :) But I find the rhythm really haunting.. It's not just the lyrics, it's what the lyrics, the voice and the rhythm focus together.. Yes, they make it so powerful..

I really don't recommend this song for anyone who is already depressed.. They CAN feel suicidal urge within... For others, it is worth listening at least once..
