Hi Mike,
Thanks for your comments on my photos. I took most of them with a digital camera. We just have two small solar panels, and we use them to charge batteries. However, we have been trying to grow more of our own food or to get fruit from local growers or trees in the neighborhood. There are a few citrus trees in common areas in our neighborhood, and there is a lady who has a starfruit tree. She doesn't eat the starfruit, but the wildlife do. Picking the fruit up from under the tree is a chore for her, so she told me I could drop by and harvest star fruit. Our neighborhood is condos, so our main problem with food production is lack of space for growing food. I am interested in all things sustainable, and hope to be able to afford an entirely off-the-grid home one day.
We do have some squash, broccoli, tomatoes, peppers, pineapple, herbs, beans and some other plants growing at the moment, despite our lack of space. It is part container gardening, and part heavy duty soil enrichment that allows us to produce as much as we do in such a small space.
