Reflections on Social Justice and Equality of all persons. I've had a variety of occupations in my life, I've met people from many cultures, orientations, lifestyles, and beliefs. I am a believer in the reason why America was founded and we have done a horrible job of making a reality.

I guess the place to begin would our election race. Politics, doesn't that say it all? All of us have a part in making our dreams happen for this country. There is one thing I want to happen during this election is there be a true separation between religious and the rights of all people. I would like to have an election where people with mountains of money do not take the rights of others away from those who don't. I would hope that we as a nation would realize that what we have may not be the best for other nations. Freedom means that, freedom. I hope this year, things will change to better all people in all nations.

Heres an example of the use of religion to dictate legislation and the freedom of persons. CNN politics stated of Republican Presidential Candidate Huckabee: "Before Michigan's primary earlier this week, Huckabee also said this: "What we need to do is to amend the Constitution so it's in God's standards, rather than try to change God's standards so it lines up with some contemporary view of how we treat each other and how we treat the family."

Promoting legislation according to his Southern Baptists roots: "He has reiterated his support for constitutional amendments to ban abortion and same-sex marriage -- which he told the Web site Beliefnet.com could open the door to polygamy, pedophilia and bestiality."

How someone could come to those conclusions shows how much he has his head in the sand.

Sexual and Gender Identities and the determination of control of a womens body aside, Huckabee re-opens an embarrassing time in US history where slavery used human beings as objects. Huckabee stated this: "The Iowa caucus winner weighed in Thursday on the state's perennial debate over displaying the Confederate flag, expressing sympathy with those who believe the rebel banner should be flown. The flag is also considered by many to be a symbol of slavery.

"You don't like people from outside the state telling you what to do with your flag," he told an audience in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. "In fact, if somebody came to Arkansas and told us what to do with our flag, we'd tell them where to put the pole."

Then this candidate changed his story at another stop in his campaign. "But later in the day at another campaign stop in Columbia, South Carolina, Huckabee said the flag matter "has no business from the president of the United States."

Politics is scary business. How did we stray so much from the first freedoms that founded this country?
