Employ non-comedogenic skin products whenever possible to beat acne. "Non-comedogenic" is the technical term for a product designed not to clog pores. Creams, cleansers and make-up that carry a non-comedogenic guarantee are less likely to block pores, and clogged-up pores are one of the leading causes of acne infection. Remain aware that acne can have multiple causes, though, and non-comedogenic products alone may not solve an acne problem.

To avoid acne problems, try to be aware of touching your face with your hands and then, stop it! Constantly touching your face with your hands, resting your head on your hand when bored or resting your chin on your hands while sleeping, transfers the day's bacteria and oils built up on your hands to your face, re-clogging and infecting pores.

To keep your face clear and pimple-free make sure to clean your makeup brushes regularly. Also throw out all of your old makeup. Old makeup and dirty brushes can add dirt and bacteria to your face that can cause blemishes and blackheads. Anything that touches your face should be fresh and clean.

Those who have a tendency to suffer from acne outbreaks should use care when selecting the temperature of water which is used for washing their skin. It is important to avoid washing the skin with hot water. Taking hot baths or long, hot showers can remove moisture from the skin, which can lead to the affected area becoming even more inflamed.

In order to prevent acne, avoid stress as much as possible. When a person is extremely stressed out, a hormone called Cortisol is released. Cortisol is a main cause of acne. To prevent stress and therefore prevent acne, try exercising more frequently or practice relaxation techniques like Yoga or meditation.

If you wash your face at night and you notice a big pimple that is staring at you, try to ice it down before you go to bed. Just hold an ice cube on it for a few minutes and you may find that it does not look as swollen and red by the time you get out of bed in the morning.

Use the juice from beet roots. It might sound a little gross, but it can be very effective in clearing up your skin. Cut a beet root into small pieces. Squeeze out the juice and rub this into your face. Massage it in for about 5 minutes. After 10 additional minutes, shower.

A honey mask can do wonders to cure an acne prone face. Honey has antibacterial properties and can be a soothing solution to even the worst acne break outs. It is also a very gentle product to use on sensitive skin. Use the mask once or twice a week for best results.

If you are a smoker who is concerned about preventing or treating acne, it is time to give up those cigarettes. Recent studies have shown that excessive smoke is damaging to the skin and can actually worsen your acne condition. It is important to give up smoking, or at least reduce the amount of smoke your body is subjected to in order to prevent breakouts.

If you are going to use any treatments for acne, always remember to consult a dermatologist before that. Sometimes people are hasty when trying to clear it up so they try many products. That is not a good idea because instead of making it better it can actually make things worse.
