BIBLE PREDICTED THAT CYRUS WOULD FREE THE JEWS.

PROPHECY: Cyrus will set the Jews free from Babylon………Isaiah 44;28.

FULFILLMENT: Ezra 1;1-5



Ezra 1;1 Amplified Bible
The Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia to send the Jews back to Judah and Jerusalem, to re-build the Temple of the God of Israel.

Cyrus (the sun) was not a believer (a disciple) in the God of Israel. Why did Cyrus order the Jerusalem Temple to be built?

Jeremiah 29;10
The Lord said: when 70 years are completed for Babylon, I will visit you (Israel) and keep My good promise to you, causing you to return to this place.

Isaiah 44;24 through Isaiah 46;13
44;26…….before Jerusalem was destroyed by Babylon, Isaiah predicted that Jerusalem will be destroyed and re-built, by Cyrus……… (Cyrus had not been born yet at the time of this prediction)

44;27 …..Cyrus diverted the river away from the water-gates of Babylon, and his army walked into Babylon, in the dried up river-bed.
45;1-3…the Lord gave success to Cyrus, to defeat kingdoms, cities, and Babylon………….Why?…….to accomplish the prophecy of Jeremiah 29;10

45;4……….Why would a pagan sun-worshipper (Cyrus) set the Jewish captives free, and provide money and materials and the Temple Treasures to re-build the Jerusalem Temple?………….someone (Daniel?) showed to Cyrus his name in the Scripture, written before Cyrus was born, which told of how the Lord would raise up Cyrus to be World-Ruler……………this moved Cyrus, so much, that he set the Captives free, without price or ransom.

isaiah 46;10………….the God of Israel predicts the future……….no-one else can do this, like He can………This is one of the marks of True Deity, and is one of the Proofs that the Bible is True.
Isa 42:9 Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.


Isaiah 45;9-10………..God uses even pagan sun-worshippers (Cyrus) to accomplish God’s righteousness and Love.
God is Sovreign and He uses any person or thing to accomplish His Plan. Compare to Romans 9;20.

Isa 48;15……..God foretold it, God called Cyrus, God brought Cyrus and God made the way of Cyrus prosperous.
Cyrus was not great……….God was great, and God prospered Cyrus…………..Cyrus was so moved by this Scripture, that Cyrus set the Jews free!

Isa 49;5………..God formed Cyrus from the womb to bring Jacob back to Him……….God gave Cyrus and/or Israel to the nations, to be a light to the nations, that God’s salvation may extend to the end of the earth………….here, Christ the Redeemer is in view.

49;7……..God has Chosen Cyrus ,,,,,,,,,,so, Kings will arise to greet Cyrus, Princes will prostrate themselves before Cyrus,

49;12…………God Chose Cyrus to send the Jews back to Israel, to re-build the Temple, and Christ will minister in said Temple, and preach the Gospel. Christ will send His Apostles to the opposite side of the earth, even to Sinim (China), to preach the Good News: God has provided a Savior!

Haggai 2;9………the Glory of the Second Temple will be greater than Solomon’s Temple, because Christ will come to the Second Temple.

Jer 16;14………the Exodus will be overshadowed by God’s Rescue of the Jews from Babylon………….God will make the story of Cyrus to be proverbial,…….. like Noah and the Flood, the Exodus, Sodom, David, Solomon, Jonah, the Cross, the Babe in Bethlehem,
Why does God make this great, notorious Bible-stories?……..He uses these fantastic stories to publicize His Salvation.
These Bible-stories are famous (or in-famous), world-wide, for millennia………….Why? ………to help save us from our sins!
