You knew it! Now it has been demonstrated scientifically. Fibromyalgia patients feel more aches and pains in cold and damp weather. Researchers had 955 patients with number of different problems like arthritis and fibromyalgia fill out pain logs. This morning, after having my coffee, I decided to bury the veggie and fruit scraps that I had been storing in plastic bags in the fridge until such time as I got around to this task. So, I dug several holes in various garden spots that need richer soil. I am trying to slowly change the soil so that it is richer and less sandy by burying composting material. This method has worked well in the patio garden, which is now full of earthworms, and should work in the two west-facing gardens. We…

One of the problems that many people with fibromyalgia face is that there are no tests that definitively show that you have fibromyalgia. However, what scientists have learned quite a bit about what causes fibromyalgia what goes wrong to create whole body pain. There are some genetic factors that have been shown to be related to a higher risk of getting fibromyalgia. In addition, stress can be a factor, including physical, like car accident,…

Dopamine is a chemical in your brain that is used to send messages to the nerve cells or neurons in your brain that control your muscles. James Parkinson figured out in 1817 that the tremors and speech problems seen in what we now call "Parkinson's disease" were improved by giving dopamine. Before that, people with Parkinson's disease were sent to mental hospitals (because doctors then thought if you can't figure out the cause for a disease, it must be "all in your…

5 more days and this year will be over. A new year will come. It will bring new hope, new promises and new dreams. It will come with the tag line, "Hey You! Stop whining about the past and start singing the anthem of the future. Cuz the future is here".
2008 is going to be a vital one for my life. As I will have to decide too many important things by this year. It has been some time since I stepped into this programming world. This coming year, I am planning to expand my boundaries…

Oh what a day! I've watched four films, eaten enough turkey to sustain a small African nation for several weeks and succeeded in doing precious little else. Mission accomplished! I'm parked here infront of an open fire, fairy lights twinkling across the ceiling and a rather miserable specimen of a Christmas tree standing sentry behind me. Its very festive admittedly, but a bit on the warm side. If it were up to me we'd have some chestnuts roasting over the fire to soak up a few of the excess…

Day 3, no five year olds. I am recovering nicely from all the work festivities. Actually, the kids really weren't that over the top this year. Perhaps they were but my tolerence level is increasing? Pffft...yeah ok, that last sentence is very laughable!
Several of us went out after work Thursday to a local restaurant. We had dinner and laughed WAY too loud. It was completely dead in there and there were about eight of us. We got a few looks from the other two tables that had…

UpDate: How totally group-think; those who find this functionality intuitive prolly find it like water into water. Else? It's insanity ... after drilling down and spidering around to find my list of Networks GUESS WHAT KnolStuff isn't in the list. Pathological ... insane ... quite literally: mad*
Does every single aspect and function have to be overloaded with gack and dripping with ancillary data?
I've come to write a note ...…

This blog will investigate the conflicts, empowering moments, and hassles as work and life intersect. As I get some time over the holidays, I'll frame the issue more explicitly to guide any entries you might want to leave.
Also, I plan to put an excerpt of my Knol in this blog to give you a taste of where that is headed.

Below is the first few paragraphs of my Knol. This is a first draft and the whole article is far from done. But here's a sample of where the…

Ideas for a better Gulfport:
Pasadena Yacht & Country Club is an example of a TOXIC
DEVELOPMENT. They pour pesticides on the ground along with chemical
fertilizers and herbicides that all run off and pollute the bay and our
ground waters. They cut down sustainable plantings in favor of high
maintenance turf that takes lots of chemicals and machinery to
maintain, polluting the air with exhaust fumes. The noise… Continue

Future of India (in Hindi).
Synopsis : India has boasted itself of being a great nation - a world leader culturally and spiritually. However despite the eploits of Pachauri, Aishwarya, Tata Group, TCS, Infosys, Mahendra Dhoni and Sania Mirza, the average Indian does not have the time to think beyond the daily needs and securing a future.

I saw this story about the Philadelphia, PA. business owner posting a sign stating "This is America Please Speak English when Ordering",
in his establishment. I saw it 1st on the web and then again on TV,
then heard another segment on 850 KOA Denver news radio. There are
people truly upset about this saying that it is racist. What do you
think?
